Beppe Sala, Mayor of Milan, and Claudio Luti, President of the same Salone del Mobile were the leaders of this conference that produce the Design Manifesto of this year’ edition.
This manifesto says that Salone del Mobile is based on eight pivotal points that work as a compass to sublimate the commercial event in the bridgehead of the whole innovation system of the city. Those who are looking for historical anticipations, brilliant intuitions or brilliant inventions by copywriters would be disappointed. Because the values of Enterprise, Quality, Project, System, Youth, Communication, Culture, Milan At the Center that are the cornerstones of the Manifesto are not aimed at upsetting the foundations of the system, but only want to promote its virtuous action by imposing the lovemark Salone as an effective experience that works better and better than others. Alongside Fuorisalone, which consists of a wide variety of events and exhibitions that highlight the work of young designers, Salone del Mobile is one of the most defining moments of Milan Design Week and gives you the perfect opportunity to not only meet this incredible city but also to discover the latest news and trends of Italian and International Design.
Claudio Luti – also the manager of the prestigious Italian brand, Kartell - has made an insightful comment: “Design is emotion. Milan is the heart it springs from. What connects these two things is the Salone del Mobile, which creates new frameworks and hosts new creativity at each edition, because the important thing is that this event is not simply the leading showcase of both Italian and foreign furnishing and design, it also shines a light onto developments within the industry”.
